Anyone who knows me well knows that when it comes to blogging, I’ve launched and relaunched several blogs over the course of at least a decade, with just as many names and topics to match. I’ve been a fashion blogger, a weddings blogger, a college blogger, a hip hop culture blogger, a Christian blogger, a relationship advice blogger, a skin care blogger and many others besides.
Each time I’ve done this, I’ve run into the same problem: I start blogging with enthusiasm about my given topic, the topic got old, I got busy, the blog fell by the wayside for months (or years), I come back to it, I scrap it, I find a new niche, I start blogging with enthusiasm, and the cycle continues.
However, this time during my year of downtime from my blog something very different was happening. Yes, I was indeed busy with my responsibilities. Within that, though, I was fully immersed in a year-long mentoring program that helped women become the best versions of themselves both personally and professionally. Unlike the breaks I’ve taken before, I did the hard, necessary work of rediscovering who I am, what I’m passionate about, and deciding to go for what I actually want.
At this time I’m studying to become a childbirth educator with the ultimate goal of launching an organization dedicated to educating, supporting and coaching pregnant women and new parents during their transition into this new life phase. Naturally, I want a blog attached to this. Originally, I figured it would be best to wait to start blogging again once I got my company up and running…
Only to figure that it would be an awful idea to do so.
Why wait to blog for my company when I have so much to say and so much to offer right now?
So, I’m choosing not to wait. Instead I’m choosing to place a stake in my little section of the Internet so that anyone who finds this blog can find a little joy, a little guidance, a little encouragement for their day ahead.
The pregnancy and parenting company will come. In the meantime, I’m on a mission to use my voice to spread some happiness into the blogosphere.
With that being said, welcome to the final incarnation of JasmynElliott.com.
You got this Jasmyn. Can wait to read more 😍😍
